The Great American Smokeout
Thursday, November 19, 2009

Tables at Barnard Hall and Lerner Ramps
10:30am to 2:30pm
Did you know that this Thursday is the 34th annual Great American Smokeout?
Tobacco use remains the single largest preventable cause of disease and premature death in the U.S., and cigarette smoking accounts for about 443,000 premature deaths – including 49,400 in nonsmokers.
Join your fellow students and accept the Great American Smokeout Challenge in a pledge to your health on Thursday by using the day to make a plan to quit or giving up cigarettes entirely. Also, stop by the tables in Barnard Hall and on Lerner's ramps sponsored by Colleges Against Cancer to buy cookies andpick up information for you or a friend on how to quit. It's good for your health and for your pocketbook--resolve to make a change this week!

Take the Laundry Survey '09, win a $50 gift certificate to Westside Market! The 11 question survey will be used by CCSC to gauge interest in new laundry policies and more sustainable options, and each participant will be entered into a random lottery for the prize.
