CCSC '13 loves its blog readers!

Hey first years! Looking for something Halloweeny to do this weekend? Aside from Saturday's 1PM football game or Sunday's 1PM field hockey game (which you should go to- support your classmates!), here's a few suggestions of things to build up that fall spirit.

-Take part in a New York City tradition- Show up in costume on Sixth Avenue between Spring Street and Canal Street to participate or line up between Spring Street and 21st Street to watch! Take the (1) downtown to any stop on the route then walk one block east to Sixth Avenue.

-I've always been a sucker for fall foliage, maybe it's just me. Take a trip uptown for some awesome Hudson River views in one of the nicest parks of the city, and while you're there, stop by The Cloisters, the Met's Medieval Art museum. Trust me, there are few places more beautiful than The Cloisters in the fall. Take the (1) uptown to 168th street, transfer to the (A) and take the (A) to the 190th street station, then just keep walking North along Fort Washington Avenue until it becomes Margaret Corbin Drive, then keep walking until you get to the park. I swear, the commute isn't that bad.

-The creepiest place in the world, aside from maybe Staten Island, has got to be that huge church on 113th and Amsterdam, St John the Divine. Don't feel like straying too far from campus? To get into that Halloween spirit, go to see the procession of the Ghouls and hear the organ play, following a screening of the first film adaption of Dracula, Nosferatu. The price is $20 per ticket, and it sounds really, really cool.

Thanks for reading this post, have an awesome Halloween weekend, and as a reward for taking the time to read this, here are some free mp3s!

Enjoy, and only download these if you promise to keep reading the blog :D
